Selfish Net is a lightweight Windows utility for local network bandwidth management. It discovers devices on your LAN, measures their real-time upload and download rates, and lets you throttle or temporarily block individual hosts to prevent bandwidth hogging. The interface presents a simple table of detected devices with per-device controls for setting speed limits, toggling connectivity, and observing current throughput. It’s useful for small offices, classrooms, labs, and home networks where quick, hands-on traffic shaping and troubleshooting are needed without deploying enterprise-grade solutions.

Key capabilities:

  • Real-time device discovery on the local subnet
  • Per-device bandwidth monitoring (download and upload)
  • On-the-fly throttling with custom speed limits per host
  • One-click blocking/unblocking of selected devices
  • Lightweight, portable design with a straightforward GUI

Notes:

  • Typically requires Windows administrator privileges and a packet capture driver (such as WinPcap or Npcap).
  • Use only on networks you own or administer. Unauthorized use may violate policies or laws; obtain permission before managing traffic on any network.

The most popular version of Selfish Net among our users is 1.0. The names of program executable files are Selfish Net 0.2.exe, SelfishNetv0.2-beta_vista.exe.

You can check Microsoft .NET Framework, ABCpdf .NET, 1-abc.net File Configuration Box and other related programs like ThermalLabel SDK for .NET at the "download" section.
